Going Back to School and the American Public University
Have you considered returning to college? I know I have. I recently considered going back to college and went as far as filling out the information for a Pell Grant (and getting approved). But, taking the next step is what I had a problem with.
When you are married and have a family, it is very intimidating to consider going back to school. Having to sit in those classrooms with kids that are more than half your age - well, it just wasn’t something I was looking forward to! That is why taking online classes became the right choice for me. I can have the option to take my classes whenever time permits as well as do my testing when convenient.
American Public University has given moms a place to help them achieve their educational goals from home. Classes are offered on a monthly basis, with accelerated courses and flexible programs that you can easily fit into your busy schedule.
- APU courses are 100% online, allowing students to obtain degrees from anywhere in the world – on their time, their schedules
- APU offers more than 100 online degrees and certificates in subjects ranging from homeland security to management and liberal arts to help students gain the knowledge and skills they need to advance their careers
American Public offers more than 1500 courses and more than 70 graduate and undergraduate degree programs. APU’s tuition is among the lowest in the country for accredited online universities, enabling it to offer quality, accredited degree programs at an affordable price
APU’s simplified tuition and fee structure makes it easy for students to estimate and cover expenses:
- Undergraduate: $750 for a 3 credit course
- Graduate: $900 for a 3 credit course
APU’s overall cost for undergraduate tuition, fees and books is $21 per semester hour less than the average four-year public university (College Board 2009-2010 data)
- APU has not increased undergraduate tuition fees in over 10 years and provides degree-seeking undergraduates with their course materials at no cost through a Book Grant program
- APU’s transfer credit program enables students to maximize previous learning and minimize the time and financial investment required to complete their studies
