Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Beauty Tips
When I was asked to provide a review about the many ways you can use Arm & Hammer Baking Soda to help “beautify” your look, I was psyched! But, I was actually floored that it has taken so long for them to promote all the wonderful uses of their baking soda!
I come from a large family, so obviously my parents were always looking for ways to save money - and save money we did with a little help from Arm & Hammer. Most often than not, we brushed our teeth with it and it not only cleaned our teeth, but it took care of any bad mouth odors we may have had.
I remember my father using baking soda to clean his hands and remove odors after he had been scaling fish. He mixed baking soda and table salt, rubbed it thoroughly and rinsed. Awww…clean smelling hands!
By biggest lesson about how Arm & Hammer can help you in the beauty arena was in the “big hair” 80′s! I am definitely a child of the 80′s and believe me, I had to get my hair as big as it would go before going out on the town with friends. But guess what, all that mouse, gel and hairspray really did a number on my hair - the build up was awful! Not to mention the buildup in my hair brush. I had a friend at work tell me to add some baking soda to my shampoo before applying it in the morning and it would keep the goop out of my hair. You know what - it worked like a charm! Not only did it remove the buildup, but it also acted as a natural conditioner, leaving my hair silky smooth! I also soaked my brushes in a mix of water and baking soda and the buildup floated right off of them.
Needless to say, I’m a fan of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda for over 40 years. While it won’t solve all of your beauty problems, it will most certainly go a long way for a few cents!

Facial Scrub and Body Exfoliate
For smooth, radiant skin, give yourself a gentle facial and body scrub with ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda. Make a paste of 3 parts ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda to 1 part water. Rub in a gentle circular motion to exfoliate skin and remove dead skin cells. Rinse clean. Gentle enough for daily use!
Hair Care
Get rid of product buildup by sprinkling a small amount (quarter-size) of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda into your palm along with your favorite shampoo. Shampoo as usual and rinse thoroughly. The ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda helps remove the residue that styling products leave behind so your hair is cleaner and more manageable.
Soothing Bath Soak
For a relaxing ending to a long day, add 1/2 cup of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda to your bath to neutralize acids on the skin and help wash away oil and perspiration. Your skin will feel silky smooth!
Home Pedicure Foot Soak
Start your home pedicure by dissolving 3 tablespoons of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda in a basin of warm water and soak feet. Gently scrub with a paste of ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda.
Pearly Whites
For gleaming smiles, brush teeth with ARM & HAMMER® Baking Soda. . Just sprinkle baking soda into your palm, dip a damp toothbrush into it, and brush*. For a refreshing mouthwash, use 1 teaspoon baking soda in ½ glass of water. Swish the solution through your teeth and rinse.
